'Atharintiki Daaredi' mints Rs.33.52 crore worldwide in first weekend


Pawan Kalyan starrer "Atharintiki Daaredi", which released Friday, has reaped gold at the box-office in its opening weekend collecting a whopping Rs.33.52 crore worldwide.

"This is the best ever opening for a Pawan Kalyan film. One of his previous films 'Gabbar Singh' made around Rs.32 crore worldwide in its first weekend. Excluding Monday, 'Attarintiki Daredi' has collected Rs.33.52 crores worldwide," trade analyst Trinath told us.

"Since Wednesday (Oct 2) happens to be a national holiday, it might even cross Rs.50 crore in its first week. The film has done exceptionally well in the US," he added.

Directed by Trivikram, 'AD' also features Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Pranitha, Boman Irani, Nadhiya and Brahmanadam in important roles.

"While in Andhra Pradesh 'AD' minted Rs.22.71 crore, in the US it collected about Rs.6.15 crore in the first three days. In Karnataka and Tamil Nadu together, it raked in over Rs.3 crore and in the rest of the country, it collected the remaining," he said.

Reportedly made on a budget of Rs.55 crore, 'AD' was produced by B.V.S.N. Prasad.
